Know These Awesome NoCo Bands Rocking Mishawaka by June 9

Descendents

So it’s no secret we will be playing with one of the coolest legendary punk bands ever on June 9, The Descendents. But these other rad bands we are playing at Mishawaka may actually be an incredible secret. We haven’t had the chance to play with any of these bands yet, but we are totally stoked on it.

First off, no two bands are the same, so the lineup consists of five unique bands tearing it up in totally different ways. Secondly, they are all Front Range based, so there will be great support for each of them there. Thirdly, just listen…

Bitter Suns somehow sound like they are simultaneously playing a giant club and your drunken after party basement show.  Big sounds and big harmonies from a few dudes who are quintessential NoCo. These guys should be playing everywhere.

Plasma Canvas is straight in-your-face, blistering rock to get you dancing your until you sweat bullets. They pack driving beats, shredding guitar and empowering vocals to keep you rocking all day.  Context could be the best song played that day by any of the bands.

One Flew West probably have the most fun of any of the bands playing. They at least have the best video out of all of us. Their insanely well crafted songs are sugar saturated goodness that are instant ear worms, and you probably already heard of their name since it is all over the 303 and beyond. See them here before they are selling out arenas.

Dryer Fire brings the house torching classics.  They pack working class skate rock songs that could motivate the laziest of bastards and make them poo themselves. One super awesome thing is that they covered Wyoming’s own Lillingtons, so that is worth some love. If only one band gets sponsored by Pabst this year, these guys deserve the honor.

Oh, and Sunnydale High is playing, but you know us. Get tickets here.

Sunnydale High Shirts Are Sweet!

Sunnydale High Shirt

So the new Sunnydale High shirts are pretty sweet. Also, if you want one, they will be available at our CD Release Shows in Laramie and Cheyenne.  After that, we will sell them online.

The shirts came about after we did a cover shoot for the E.P. During the shoot, we had a slew of of weapons for the taking. Jamy grabbed the cover art and some rad photos. Basically if we use a photo, she probably did it.

As we were leaving, Fran snagged a shot of Will and Jamy exiting the hallways. The mood could not have been more perfectly captured. So Fran’s awesome art now lives on via comfortable cotton, as well as our website header.

Sunnydale High Premiere’s Second Video ‘Doorways and Passages’

Ok, Sunnydale High finally got the video for “Doorways and Passages.” It was recorded at the Surfside 7 in Fort Collins by the ever talented Mike Trujillo. Special thanks to the Surfside for letting us use the rad spot.

The song is essentially about going to parties and transforming into other people. But the next day, we are back to our normal selves kind of pretending nothing happened. Buffy fans may remember the Halloween episode that had Ethan Rayne performing the ritual of Janus.

You can also head over to Bandcamp and pre-order the E.P. We are doing a hard copy release! So check that out.

That night was especially fun because we were rocking out with Men of Letters and Soviet Mothers. Special shout out to Rab aka the Ananda Agency for letting us party with them.

Our CD release show is at the 8 Bytes Cafe on May 6. The Laramie date falls on Comic Book Day, so that is pretty rad. There is a costume contest, a Deadpool pancake eating contest and a raffle of the Buffy board game. Too cool. For those who don’t know, 8 Bytes is an arcade,/comic book store/bar/restaurant/venue.

Sunnydale High Enters to Ruin Warped Tour Fans’ Day in Denver

So the band decided to give the ol’ Ernie Ball Warped Tour contest a shot.

The basic idea is, people go watch our sweet video for “Welcome to Sunnydale” at the Warped Tour site, and judges will decide if we are cool enough to play the warped tour. I will tell you right now, we are not cool enough. We are nothing but geeks with instruments, but that is exactly why the Warped tour folks should be subjected to Sunnydale High.

Just imagine a bunch of leather clad dudes wanting to tear it up in the pit, but all of a sudden a geeky band singing about a feminist sci-fi show from the ’90s gets on stage and blows them away instead.

So please, let them know the geeks are taking over. Our time is now.

Click here and give our video some love!

Sunnydale High Releases New Video for ‘Welcome To Sunnydale’

The 20th anniversary of Buffy means a lot to the band Sunnydale High.
So with that in mind the band opted to release our new video for “Welcome to Sunnydale.” It’s a great sneak peak at music to come.

The band is also announcing a pre-sale of the E.P. “Teenage Necromance” that will be dropping ver soon. You can sign up for that here.

The video was made by Brandon, Declan and Ayden Boger-a clan of guys who like to play with action figures and blow things up over at 5-2nd-DIOS.

Denver Comic Con Announces Sunnydale High Friend Juliet Landau

Sunnydale High friend Juliet Landau will be at Denver Comic Con this year! For those of you  who may not know, Juliet played Drusilla in Buffy/Angel.

She is an awesome actress and a wonderful story teller. She and her husband, Deverill Weekes, had a great indiegogo campaign in which she funded a cool vampire documentary. Juliet was kind enough to share a self-recorded demo by us recorded in her honor.

This will be the first time in two years that Sunnydale High will not be playing Denver Comic Con, but a couple of us will be there supporting it. Keep an eye out for us to be chillin’ with James Marsters and Juliet if possible.
